Performances
Every year we invite local groups to perform. In this year's edition, performances will happen in two stages - Green Stage and Kids Stage. Sueey Gutierrez, Jen Urban & The Box and Hopalong Andrew are only a few names that you'll see at the park. Check this year's line up here.
Fitness Classes
Breakin Boundaries has partnered with Go Green to bring you an impressive variety of free outdoor classes and Brooklyn Boulders is bringing an awesome obstacle course! See this year's schedule here.
Greencycle Swap
Drop off your cleaned gently-used & working items, browse the selection & take as many “riches” as you can carry for a suggested $10 donation a family. No need to drop off anything to take something, and vice-versa! MEN’S, WOMEN’S & CHILDREN’S CLOTHING, SHOES, BOOKS, TOYS, BICYCLES, PHONES, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS & ELECTRONICS. NO FURNITURE OR OVERSIZED ITEMS (other than bicycles). We will accept electronics until 4 PM.
Out of consideration for others, we may limit folks to the 1 bag or the number of bags that you've brought to donate to the swap. We do not allow taking donated items to resell because all remaining items are donated to local homeless shelters for neighbors truly in need. We're delighted to partner with Home Life Services which runs five shelters in Brooklyn and Bronx, including one in Greenpoint. Toys, books and children's clothing will be earmarked for their Albemarle Family Residence in East Flatbush; this shelter houses +180 children, ages 5 through 18!
Town Square is a qualified 501(c)(3) not-for-profit institution and your donation will be tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
Activities for All Ages
Volunteer Park Cleanup
Volunteer to help clean up the parks with local community groups. For fun, come in costume! Or craft a costume out of the materials from the Greencycle Swap. Sign up to volunteer here.
Live Art-in-Action
Watch local artists create murals and eco-art installations at the park.
Crafty Upcycle Stations
Grab some donated clothes at Go Green Greencycle Swap and talented DIYers will show you how to craft them into something new and exciting with just a rip, cut, button or ribbon.
Face Painting
Adorn your face with eco-friendly face paint and designs.
Activities for Kids
Art & Dress Up
Come dress up with beautiful Butterfly Wings provided by The Art Table Studio and engage in other fun activities!
Eco-Crafts, Classes & More
Join Play Greenpoint/Learn French Brooklyn as they demonstrate engineering classes using recycled material, arts and crafts with household material and and print flyers on recycled paper!
